McAllen Express Transit is the City of McAllen 's Public Transportation System. Since its inception, ME has enjoyed a steadily increasingly ridership with the average monthly ridership at approximately 27,048 passengers. Currently ME operates six routes and one paratransit vehicle. Central Station serves, as the hub for ME's six routes. That is, all of ME's routes originate and end at Central Station, and they make frequent stops at Central Station throughout the day with ME buses stopping within 45-55 minute intervals.

International Destinations
With departures approximately every thirty minutes into Mexico , Central Station has indeed become the "Gateway into Mexico ." Currently, there are two daily departures from McAllen directly to Mexico City and departures to Monterrey from Central Station approximately every thirty minutes. Other popular Mexico destinations include San Luis Potosi , Matehuala, Linares , General Teran, San Juan de los Lagos , Tampico , Ciudad Victoria and Leon .
