A Veterans Day ceremony will be held at the Veterans War Memorial of Texas located next to the City of McAllen Convention Center at 29th Street and Galveston Street starting at 11am on November 11th.

The main focus of this year's ceremony will be the dedication of three granite walls inscribed with a picture and information on each of the 32 soldiers and Marines from the Valley that were killed in the Iraq or Afghanistan wars. Representatives from each of the soldiers' families will be on hand for the dedication of these walls that will honor the memories and the sacrifice of these brave Valley natives that gave their lives for our Nation.

In addition to the dedication ceremony, there will be patriotic songs, music and speakers to share the meaning of Veterans Day and to honor all veterans for their service to our Nation.

All veterans, non-veterans, families, teachers, students, and other community members are encouraged to attend to honor all veterans for their service and remember the sacrifice of those who gave their lives for our Nation.
