The City of McAllen offers its residents a brush collection service. Brush collection happens in your neighborhood every four to six weeks. All you need to do is place
your brush/tree limbs in your alley. If your home does not have an alley, simply leave the brush/tree limbs on your curbside.
The pickup schedule is outlined below, and is also available for download. For more information, call McAllen Public Works at (956)
681-4000.

Preparing Brush for Pickup
Brush and tree limbs must not be placed in a way that they cover water meter boxes, telephone pedestals, gas meters, cable wires or any other public utility fixture,
according to City of McAllen Ordinance Section 90-42 (c).
Tree limbs that are placed for collection must not exceed five feet in length nor three inches in diameter. Neatly stack your brush and tree limbs and make sure your
grass cuttings and leaves are placed in plastic trash bags. All other brush or similar items must be neatly bound.
Plan Ahead
You can skip the wait and schedule for a “roll-off” to be placed at your residence.
A roll-off is a large container for brush and tree limbs. These roll-off containers are issued on a “first call, first serve” basis and are free of charge.
Roll-offs are placed on Fridays and picked up on Mondays. You can schedule for a roll-off by calling the City of McAllen Public Works Department at (956) 681-4000.
