Keep McAllen Beautiful
Keep McAllen Beautiful, Inc. is an educational, non-profit organization that develops and expands the awareness of McAllen's citizens and visitors about littering and
proper waste disposal and promotes the preservation of McAllen's natural beauty.
Neighborhood Cleanups
Project Clean Neighborhoods is designed to assist in helping to clean and beautify neighborhoods. The City of McAllen provides roll-offs (dumpsters) to neighborhoods
at no cost so that citizens may dispose of any broken appliances, trash or debris.
Residents can decide when they want a cleanup in their community by scheduling and coordinating their neighbors for a pre-determined Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00
p.m. On that day, neighborhood residents may dispose of any materials into the roll-offs.
City workers will place dumpsters in designated areas. The neighborhood homeowners association will notify residents as to when and where the dumpsters will be located
and will notify residents.

Paint McAllen Beautiful
Through its various projects and events, KMB has brought together various city departments, schools, churches, businesses, and citizenry to focus on the importance of
enhancing our community.
Working with volunteers, whether it is through landscape beautification projects, the painting of homes for elderly low-income residents, helping collect recyclables,
educating over 30,000 students in schools and festivals or by initiating neighborhood cleanups and collecting over 192 tons of debris this year. KMB is on the forefront
of helping raise public awareness on protecting the environment, going green, and being sustainable.

Litter-Free McAllen
KMB serves as an affiliate for Keep Texas Beautiful, Keep America Beautiful, and the
State of Texas Alliance for Recycling. These endeavors have all allowed KMB to continue its mission to educate
and implement practices of proper waste disposal to reduce the negative impact on the environment and for the promotion of McAllen’s natural beauty, while augmenting
the going green and sustainability initiatives.
Reducing Usage of Plastic Bags
Other programs initiated have been a reusable bag initiative program to help promote using less plastic bags and reducing environmental pollution and a tree preservation
ordinance to help lead the city into a sustainable future.
