Pet owners are invited to bring their cats and dogs to a series of rabies clinics, hosted by the McAllen Police Department and its Animal Control division, March 3 to March 31, 2012.
The cost for a one year vaccination for licensed pets, between the ages of four months and one year old, is $7.00 dollars. For a 3-year vaccination for licensed pets, over one year old, the cost is $15 dollars.

It's all part of an annual community tour aimed at reaching out to the club's fan base. Fans will have an opportunity to meet some of the Houston Astros players, traveling along. Expected at the McAllen stops are players Jose Altuve, Jimmy Paredes, Fernando Rodriguez, and Alex Treviño. However, Astros management said players could be added and are subject to change.

The project is expected to expand restricted drainage at La Bandera subdivision and connect outfall there to the nearby Blueline Ditch. Construction has reduced traffic lanes on north 29th, near Zinnia park, and made the park spray ground inoperable until the week of spring break.

Friedman is the second speaker Wednesday, Feb. 29 in the 2011-2012 Distinguished Speakers Series at The University of Texas-Pan American. His presentation will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Auditorium.

“Students will get to see what UTPA has to offer, not only from a student life perspective, but most importantly the academic perspective,” said Aura Cazares, director of undergraduate recruitment for the Office of Outreach and Recruitment. Cazares said, participants will learn the ins and outs of the University and get the essential building blocks necessary for a successful future.

Over 300 vehicles in 10 different categories will be on display in the 60,000 square foot indoor exhibit halls and on acres of paved parking lots around the Center. In addition to the Classics, Antiques, Muscle Cars, Hot Rods and Modern Vehicles on display, there will be a Swap Meet, Show & Shine, Miniature Car Drag racing, kids Model Car Build-off and a Road Skill Test Track.
