The City of McAllen is hosting GIS Day, this Friday November 20, at the McAllen Convention Center.
GIS, which stands for Geographic Information Systems, integrates, stores, edits, analyzes, shares, and displays geographic information.
GIS technology can be used for scientific investigations, resource management, asset management, archaeology, environmental impact assessment, urban planning, cartography, criminology, geographic history, marketing, logistics, prospectivity mapping, and other purposes.
The event runs from 8 am to 4 pm and will feature a host of speakers who are using GIS technology.
Vendors and exhibitors include Trimble, Holt Cat, ESRI, UTPA, STC, and more.
