The City of McAllen Parks and Recreation Department will host the First Annual Underwater Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 3rd at Municipal Pool (1921 N. Bicentennial) in McAllen.
Municipal Pool will be open for Public Swim at 1:00 p.m. with the Underwater Easter Egg Hunt scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. Public Swim will also be available following the festivities.
“We decided to add a twist to the traditional egg hunt this year,” said Sally Gavlik, Director of the Parks and Recreation Department. “The Underwater Easter Egg Hunt will be a great way to kick off a new season of Public Swim at Municipal Pool while providing a fun and exciting event for families to enjoy.”
Plastic eggs will be scattered throughout Municipal Pool with each egg containing a special coin. The coin can then be turned in for a prize following the conclusion of each age group’s competition. Children will be grouped according to age (ages 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12).
The Easter Bunny and Gus & Goldie plan to make a special appearance at the event. The Parks & Recreation Department will also provide hot dogs and drinks to those participating in the festivities.
The price of admission for Public Swim is $2.00 which also includes admission for the Underwater Easter Egg Hunt.
After the Underwater Easter Egg Hunt is complete, stay and swim with Gus & Goldie until 6:00 p.m.
No reservation required.
