SCORE Seeking Business Counselors

SCORE "Counselors to America's Small Business" is a nonprofit association dedicated to entrepreneur education and the formation, growth and success of small business nationwide. SCORE is a resource partner with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

SCORE has 364 chapters in locations throughout the United States and its territories, with 12,400 volunteers nationwide. Both working and retired executives and business owners donate time and expertise as business counselors. SCORE was founded in 1964.

The Valley SCORE Chapter is offering free and confidential advice to small businesses, either at the startup stage or already in operation. In these economically challenging times such counseling is all the more important. SCORE needs more counselors with business experience to help local businesses.

If you are looking for challenging and satisfying assignments that utilize your skills, but need to know more about SCORE, you are invited to register for a luncheon at the McAllen Country Club, 615 Wichita, McAllen on April 6 at 12 Noon. Go to www.rgvscore.org for more information, click on “Volunteer” and fill in the details. SCORE is hosting the occasion to explain how you can help and answer any questions you may have.
