Thirty-five of the best restaurants in the McAllen area are preparing to showcase some of the many delicacies from their menus to the public; at the 11th International Food Festival, sponsored by the McAllen Chamber of Commerce and area chefs at the McAllen Convention Center Thursday, February 23rd.
The Festival will offer an exciting opportunity for restaurants and caterers
to promote their businesses as well as allow visitors to sample food from new restaurants. Last year's event featured over thirty-five restaurants serving samples of prime rib, shrimp, Mexican food, pasta, coffee, desserts and much more.
A panel of judges through a blind tasting competition will once again select the recipients of the "Best of Show Award" in two different participating categories, independent and franchise. The public attending the event will also have the opportunity to participate in selecting their favorite restaurant for the coveted "People's Choice Award."
A theme is chosen every year to decorate the exhibitors' booths and create a fun environment; the theme for this year is "Carnival", an evening of fun, celebration and live music performed by the very talented Midnight Band.
Tickets are sold at the Chamber for $15.00 per person (all you can eat),
children 10 and under Eat Free!
