City of McAllen Seeking New Library Director
The City of McAllen Human Resources Department is seeking a new library director for the McAllen Public Library.
Candidates applying for the position should have a Master's in Library Science degree, have a minimum of 5 years experience, a grade 1 county librarians certificate and be capable of managing a $3.2M budget. Salary for this position will be based on experience and qualifications.
The McAllen Public Library has 123,000 square feet of space and is the largest library in the Rio Grande Valley. The facility opened its doors in December of 2011 and currently serves an increasing number of library patrons. In the month of March 2012 alone, the McAllen Public Libary served over 70,000 patrons.
