DPS To Close McAllen Driver License Office for Remodeling
The Texas Department of Public Safety has announced it will temporarily close its McAllen driver license office for remodeling, beginning June 1, 2012.
In an interview with the McAllen Cable Network, DPS spokesman Johnny Hernandez said the planned construction work will make the McAllen office more customer friendly. It will include an expanded lobby, more customer service windows and improvements to the parking lot.
Remodeling work is scheduled for completion in September of 2013. During the closure, motorists can visit the Edinburg drivers license office beginning June 4, 2012. The DPS locations in Weslaco and Palmview are also available for use.
Drivers are also encouraged to renew their licenses online at www.texasonline.com or texas.gov/DLrenewal.
