The City of McAllen Parks and Recreation Department will begin accepting reservations for rental of the Firemen’s Park pavilion. McAllen residents can begin making reservations on Friday, June 1st, while non-McAllen residents can begin making reservations on Monday, June 4th. Pavilion reservations will be accepted for dates beginning Friday, June 8th with available reservation times ranging between 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Reservations will be accepted up to one year in advance on a first come, first serve basis.
The Firemen’s Park pavilion fenced facility includes (14) 15 ft. picnic tables, canteen, an 8 ft. BBQ grill with outdoor prep sink, electricity and water, piñata stand, sand volleyball court, (3) camping sites, nearby play structure and restrooms. The canteen includes electricity, water and refrigerator. No live bands, DJs, amplifiers or loud music allowed in the pavilion area. Moon jumps are only allowed within the fenced area and powered by a generator. The pavilion capacity is 250 people.
A four hour pavilion rental is $250 for McAllen Residents and $325 for non-McAllen residents. One additional hour is $50, while the second additional hour is $60. The third and fourth additional hours are $70 each. A $125 refundable damage deposit is required per pavilion reservation. Non-profit 501 (c) 3 organizations can qualify for a 30% discount with proof of non-profit certification.
Scout and organized youth groups can reserve the camping area by submitting a letter of request and $100 rental fee.
Reservations for Firemen’s Park will only be accepted at the Parks and Recreation Administration Office located at 1000 S. Ware Rd. from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. All reservations must be made in person. Reservations will not be accepted for tentative dates (pencil-in) or by phone. McAllen residents must provide a utility bill or property tax receipt at the time of reservation to qualify for the resident discount. Forms of payment accepted include cash, check, Visa or Mastercard. Park facilities may not be used for commercial purposes.
