July '12 Sales Tax Receipt Soars to $4.6M; Up 15.48%
The City of McAllen's sales tax receipt in July 2012 soared to $4.6M—increasing 15.48% over the same month of last year.
The total for all cities in Hidalgo County were close behind with an increase of 14.26% and all cities in the State increased 11.01%.
This month’s receipt represents taxable sales that took place during the month of May 2012. This places the City in the #12 position within the Top 20 Cities in the State. It also represents the third month this fiscal year that has exceeded the comparable months in the City’s pre-recession high water mark of fiscal year 2007-2008.
