Improvements Planned at City of McAllen Dog Park
The City of McAllen Parks and Recreation Department will begin to lay sod at the large dog side of the Dog Park, on August 13th. At that time, that area will be closed for one month to allow for the sod to take hold.
"Once we see that this side is working, we will open the large side and close the small dog side and do the same plan," said McAllen Parks and Recreation Director Sally Gavlik. "The area has been used so much that there is no turf left near the large tree, in the middle of the park."
Gavlik said Parks and Recreation staff will post signs, advising the public about the planned park improvements.
