Residents Encouraged to Petition for Historic Zone

Terri Meyers with Preservation Central, Inc. and City of McAllen neighborhood planner Xavier Cervantes interview with MCN's Ray Pedraza about the most recent historic preservation survey completed in McAllen.

The survey includes areas between Pecan & Hackberry and between 6th & Bicentennial.

From the 1920's to the early post war era, this part of McAllen includes historic bungalow homes, revival houses and ranch style homes. If the majority of residents living in the survey area want it to be zoned as a historic district, they can petition the City of McAllen and request that it be zoned a historic district.

For more information, contact neighborhood planner at (956) 681-1250.
