Contractor Updates Bentsen Road Widening Project
The paving contractor hired for the City of McAllen's Bentsen Road widening project, IOC Company, has rescheduled the opening of the Daffodil/Bentsen Road intersection to Tuesday, October 2. The east leg of the Daffodil paving has been completed, however rain delays have pushed back the completion of Daffodil paving along Bentsen Road.
Bentsen Road is being widened to a five lane corridor from Pecan Avenue to 3 Mile Line (Buddy Owens). IOC plans to transition traffic over to a newly paved section, between Pecan and Nolana, beginning October 8.
The Bentsen/Nolana intersection, which is currently closed, is scheduled to open to east/west traffic starting October 12.
