McAllen Parks & Recreation Department Hosts Fright Night 5K

The City of McAllen Parks and Recreation Department will host its Fright Night 5K, Saturday October 27, 2012, at the Palm View Golf Course, at 2701 south Ware Road. Runners will experience a unique and thrilling twist with a Halloween-themed night run and should expect to encounter spooky surprises along the parade route.

The race fee is $20 for advance registration through October 26. Participants registering in advance will receive an additional $5 discount if they agree to wear a costume. Race day registration is $30 from 6 to 7 pm. The first 300 registered participants receive a FREE event t-shirt and custom survivor finisher medal. Custom medals will be awarded to the top 3 male and female finishers in 8 age groups.

A post race Halloween party is also planned with live music, tasty food, costume contests, games, activities, candy and prizes. The post race Halloween party is open to anyone 13 and over and will include a $5 entry fee.
