Election Identification Certificate Drive

The Texas Secretary of State and the Department of Public Safety are offering Election Identification Certificates at two McAllen locations. EICs are available free-of-charge to qualified Texas voters who do not already have an approved form of photo ID, which is now required for voting in person. 

Election Identification Certificates can be obtained in McAllen at the following:

  • Thursday, October 17th at the McAllen Public Library, main branch 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Monday, October 21st at McAllen City Hall, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

All applicants for an EIC need to present proof of U.S. citizenship and identity.
