Dignitaries from the City of McAllen and San Luis Potosi, Mexico along with Aeromar officials announced new direct flight service from Mcallen to San Luis Potosi, Mexico.
A news conference was held this morning at the McAllen Chamber of Commerce followed by a presentation by representatives from Mexico about the cultural city of San Luis Potosi. The presentation was attended by local hotel and travel industry personnel.
The inaugural flight is scheduled for November 14th, 2013. Flights will depart out of McAllen to San Luis Potosi, Mexico on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays, with enhanced seasonal service around Easter and Christmas. Flights depart McAllen at 2:05 p.m., arriving in San Luis Potosi at 3:35 p.m. Reservations can be made now by visiting Aeromar.
San Luis Potosi has long been a favorite spot for many Rio Grande Valley residents. Aeromar’s direct service from McAllen makes it that much easier to travel to this popular destination. “San Luis Potosi is enthusiastic about the opportunity to partner with both Aeromar and McAllen International Airport on direct service from McAllen to San Luis Potosi. This is the second Mexico destination offered by Aeromar with service out of McAllen. "By offering new service from McAllen to San Luis Potosi Mexico, McAllen International Airport will now offer service to two (2) key destinations in Mexico.”, said Mayor Jim Darling. “Our expanding Mexico service, to Mexico City and now San Luis Potosi, combined with our investment in a strong partnership with international air carriers like Aeromar shows our commitment to becoming the premier international airport in the Rio Grande Valley."

- Added service days are planned for the end-of-year Holiday Season and the Easter Holiday Season
- Flight departs MFE at 2:05 p.m. arriving at SLP at 3:35 p.m.
- Flight fare starts at $230 (one way)
Additional information:
- Aeromar plans to utilize an ATR 42 airliner with a 46 passenger capacity
- The route will originate and terminate in Mexico City as a tag and hence will provide additional service to Mexico City
- Passengers can accumulate frequent flyer miles under the United Mileage Plus program
