Memorial High alum to compete for Miss USA title

Ylianna Guerra, Miss Texas USA, is getting ready to face off with 50 queens from other states in the Miss USA Pageant. Before the McAllen native heads to competition, community representatives and Guerra’s friends and family are hosting a community send-off in her honor on Friday June 19, 2015 at the Renaissance Casa de Palmas Hotel.

 

There will be a meet and greet opportunity for the public at 3 p.m. Guerra is the first Miss Texas USA titleholder from the Rio Grande Valley since the 1960s. She is set to compete in the Miss USA 2015 pageant in Baton Rouge, LA on July 12th.  

 

Guerra, a recent graduate of The University of the Incarnate Word, is the daughter of Carlos and Yrma Guerra. She has worked with various nonprofit organizations such as the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Easter Seals and the Texas Children’s Hospital.
