McAllen – A series of repaving projects are underway in the City of McAllen so motorists can expect lane reductions and detours. The traffic department advises that drivers be alert and cautious of work zone areas and obey traffic signs.

The asphalt repaving process includes a phased construction process.  The first includes milling operations, where the existing asphalt is removed along the curb line. The second part of the operation is accomplished with a single machine which mills and overlays the roadway.
