McAllen Marathon traffic advisory

McALLEN –
On Sunday December 13, 2015 McAllen will host the 3rd Annual McAllen Marathon Scott Crane Memorial Run which includes a 26.2 mile full marathon, 13.1 mile half marathon or five person relay marathon adventure.

This event continues to grow each year and will bring thousands of participants and spectators to the local area during the weekend. Some important information to know about the event and the possible impact to people in the McAllen area is below:

• The race will begin at 7:00 am on Sunday December 13 and the course will be open for runners for a total of 7 hours during the day. Most affected roadways will be shut down starting at 5:30 a.m. race-day.

The following streets will be closed:

- Buddy Owens from ware to 29th.

-Dove from 10th to 23rd

-Bicentennial from Trenton to Nolana.  

 

Local law enforcement is asking the public to plan accordingly for possible delays due to this event throughout the day and to avoid traveling in impacted areas if possible. For any questions, please contact the McAllen Police Department at 956-681-2000.
