Overview

The McAllen Parks and Recreation Department Aquatics Division offers a full aquatic recreational program throughout the year. From our Gus & Goldie Learn-to-Swim Program to a variety of American Red Cross programs, students of all ages can take part in our programs to learn the important skills of swimming. The City operates four public swimming pools, which are also available for rental through our Department.

 

 

LIFEGUARD TRAINING

 

Classes are currently being offered to train candidates to become certified American Red Cross lifeguards. Attendance is mandatory to receive certification. Lifeguards hired by the City of McAllen Parks and Recreation Department will receive a reimbursement of $40.

Fee: $95.00

Time: All classes will meet Fridays: 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. and Sat. & Sun.: 9:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Location: Boys Club Municipal Pool
