The City of McAllen is proud to announce the lineup of its 81st Annual 4th of July Celebration.

The celebration will begin with the Patriotic Program and Parade at 8:30 a.m. The Patriotic Program will feature a keynote address by James A. McNair, American Legion Department of Texas Commander. The parade, whose theme is “Saluting Everyday Heroes!”, begins at Jackson and Main Street in Downtown McAllen and ends at Archer Park. Over 140 units are expected to participate in this year's event. The parade will feature dignitaries, a number of floats, antique cars, and marching groups. Last year, an estimated crowd of 25,000 people attended the parade.

Following the program and parade, a variety of activities will be available at Archer Park as well, including music, food and refreshment booths, games, and arts and crafts until 3:00 PM. A special performance by Deborah Case Dance Studio will be featured. On Wednesday afternoon, the excitement heads to Municipal Park for a Kiddie Carnival from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Food and refreshment booths will also be available.

The evening activities of the 4th of July Celebration will also take place on Saturday, July 4th, in Municipal Park. The 31st Annual Aquafest Water Show starts at 6:30 PM at Municipal Swimming Pool. The show features a coin toss, splash contest, and relays as well as a special appearance by Gus & Goldie! The annual 4th of July “Concert In The Sky” will begin at 9:00 PM on Friday evening. Radio listeners can tune in to Entravision Radio station on the FM dial and BMP Radio stations on the AM dial, for a medley of patriotic numbers that will accompany the fireworks display.

The City of McAllen encourages everyone to attend the festivities as we celebrate America’s Independence and honor those who have protected our freedom.

4th of July Patriotic Program
Prior to the Parade, the Fourth of July Patriotic Program takes the stage at Archer Park at 8:15 a.m. The Patriotic Program is a heartwarming ceremony that celebrates our Independence with the help of local dignitaries, state representatives, and many Veterans.
4th of July Aquafest Water Show
The McAllen Parks & Recreation Department will sponsor the 31st Annual Aquafest Water Show on July 4th, starting at 6:30 p.m., at the Municipal Swimming Pool. The Aquatics show will consist of a coin toss, splash contest, swim relays and a special appearance by Gus & Goldie! IT’S FREE!
4th of July "Concert in the Sky"
Don’t miss the Annual Fourth of July Fireworks Display at McAllen’s Municipal Park (2100 Tamarack). Join the McAllen Parks and Recreation Department for a delight of sight and sound. This year’s exhibit is sure to be a blast!!! The Fireworks begin at approximately 9:00 p.m., Saturday, July 4th. Tune in to Entravision Radio on the FM dial and listen to the simulcast for the spectacular “Concert in the Sky”.
