Help us reduce landfill space by conserving and recycling at your home or business today!

Shopping: Buy less and buy reusable: Share magazines with friends and hospitals
Use and reuse gift bags, boxes or bows for gifts
Donate and sell used goods and shop at garage sales
Take your own cloth or paper bags when shopping
Buy products with less packaging or bulk
Select rechargeable batteries, refillable pens and cloth dish towels
Save Energy at Home: Turn off lights or TV's when not in use
Turn your thermostat up while you're away from home during the day
Replace regular bulbs with energy efficient bulbs such as florescent light/bulbs
Doing Laundry: Wash and Dry at night to use less energy
Hang your clothes up to dry often
Use phosphate-free detergent
Turn your thermostat to 130 degrees during the summer months
Bathing: Take shorter showers
Install low-flow shower heads
Turn off faucet when brushing teeth
Install a toilet dam to reduce flush amount
Alternative Cleaners: Furniture Polishes
For unfinished wood - polish with mineral oil
For finished wood – mild vegetable and soap (combine 1 part lemon juice with 2 parts vegetable or olive oil)
Pesticides: Roaches and ants: screens, caulk or cement for holes.
Seal jars with liners, rinse food off dishes, and do not leave food out.
Sprinkle boric acid in cracks and dark areas
Air Fresheners: Set out Potpourri in dishes
Saturate a cotton ball in vanilla
Simmer cinnamon cloves
