The City of McAllen offers connectivity to its wireless mesh network for general public internet use.
In November 2011, the City launched this project to provide high-speed, outdoor Internet wireless access to limited areas including Los Encinos, The Boy's and Girl's Club and the Downtown Shopping District. The wireless mesh provides a wireless testing environment to improve economic development, City services and outdoor access to the Internet.
