by Public Information Office | Jun 01, 2016

Dave & Buster’s McAllen is set to open in the second quarter of 2017, offering residents the only place to eat, drink, play and watch sports. City of McAllen leaders and Dave & Buster’s representatives broke ground today.

The 30,000 square foot ultimate entertainment destination is an ideal fit for the city, as McAllen continues to grow and city leaders make entertainment a top priority.

Dave & Buster’s will offer the very best in food, drink and entertainment in an upscale and modern environment. The new location will feature hundreds of the latest games, chef-crafted food, innovative cocktails and the ultimate sports viewing experience with massive HDTVs and a “better than the stadium experience”.

“We have been pursuing Dave & Buster’s for quite a while and we are very happy to have them in McAllen,” said Mayor Jim Darling. “This popular concept will provide the greater McAllen area with a very unique and exciting venue, and its proximity to the McAllen Convention Center area will offer an even greater variety of entertainment opportunities.”

The new Dave & Buster's will complement the Shops at 29, a new venue offering 200,000 square feet of shopping, dining and entertainment to McAllen and its surrounding communities.

“The City of McAllen is committed to bring new venues and entertainment that can be found nowhere else in the Rio Grande Valley,” said City Manager Roel “Roy” Rodriguez, P.E. “This entertainment destination will be a place for families from across the region to enjoy and create lifetime memories.”

The Dallas based company will be within walking distance from the McAllen Convention Center, the Embassy Suites Hotel, La Quinta Inn & Suites, the McAllen Performing Arts Center set to open this fall and various other restaurants such as Zoe’s Kitchen, Corner Bakery and Starbucks.
