BICENTENNIAL OVERPASS TO BE DEMOLISHED. MAIN LANE NIGHT CLOSURES SCHEDULED: Main lanes to close overnight. Frontage roads will remain open.

PHARR– The Texas Department of Transportation announces the tentative schedule for the demolition of the Bicentennial Overpass in McAllen, TX (weather permitting).

The eastbound and westbound main lanes of Interstate 2 -between 2ndand 29thStreets-will be closed from 9pm to 5am.The bi-directional night closures (9pm to 5am) will take place on these dates:
Wednesday September 5, 2018
Thursday September 6, 2018
Monday September 10, 2018

During these closure, the frontage roads will remain open. Anderson Columbia, a TxDOT contractor, will be conducting the night operations and demolition. All westbound traffic can use the “2nd/10th Street Exit” to get on frontage.

Drivers can use the entrance ramp west of 29th Street to get back on Interstate-2.All eastbound traffic can use the “23rdStreet Exit” to get on the frontage. Drivers can use the entrance ramp east of Main Street to get back on Interstate-2.Please observe all posted warning signs.
