McAllen New Year’s Eve Bash goes indoors

by Office of Communications and Media Relations | Dec 30, 2013

The City of McAllen will move its New Year’s Eve Bash inside the McAllen Convention Center because of weather conditions. The annual celebration, which typically draws thousands as an outdoor event, will take place as scheduled at the Convention Center. However, music, rides and food vendors will be moved indoors the Convention Center’s largest exhibit hall.

The family, no-alcohol event is still free. Parking is also free, and Little Joe y La Familia and several other musical acts will still play. There will be no fireworks or ball drop. Gates will still open at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. Capacity may be limited because of the size of the exhibit hall compared to having the event outdoors.

WHAT: City of McAllen New Year’s Eve Bash

WHEN: 5:30 to after midnight, Tuesday Dec. 31

WHERE: McAllen Convention Center, 700 Convention Center Blvd., McAllen (Ware Rd & Exp. 83)
