Unclaimed Property

The City of McAllen holds unclaimed property valued at $100 or less that is presumed abandoned. The property is subject to Chapter 76 of Texas Property and consists of items such as uncashed checks, deposits, refunds, overpayments or any other transactions creating a credit balance.

The City’s list of the names and last known addresses of the presumed owners of this property can be accessed here.

To recover unclaimed property, owners must present an Unclaimed Property Claim Form (Individual, Business, or Trustee) and may be required to submit proof of ownership to receive the property.

Abandoned property valued in excess of $100 is remitted to the State of Texas for disposition through the state’s unclaimed property program.
