South Pole Illuminated Festival

The South Pole Illuminated Festival's return featured recreated snowfall, radiant tunnels, holiday fireworks, and Sunset Live concerts. This year, visitors walked through illuminated tunnels and captured selfies in Santa's Castle with interactive photo ops throughout the Convention Center grounds.

CHRISTMAS IN THE PARK

The fun of the holiday season began by celebrating under and with the stars at McAllen's Christmas in the Park event. The ever famous Dallas Cowboys Hall of Fame trailer was available to the public. Attendees were able to see memorabilia, take pictures, and see replicas of the Dallas Cowboys locker room, SuperBowl trophies, and even player’s shoe size. In addition, the event featured a free family-friendly winter festival full of food, entertainment, arts & crafts, and local vendors. The City of McAllen partnered with South Texas College to offer a complimentary shuttle ride to the McAllen Holiday Parade.

CHRISTMAS PARADE

The 2021 McAllen Holiday Parade theme was Rockin' Around the South Pole, representing McAllen's love of music and movement. The parade exemplified a high-energy broadcast and celebration zone along the parade route that featured the famed Vuelta, McAllen's giant balloon twirling tradition. The McAllen Holiday Parade proudly garnered 17 Texas Festival and Events Association Awards.
