Message From Mayor

Mayor Richard Cortez

“The 2010 Census is simple, safe and all information collected is strictly confidential and important. Let’s take pride in our city and make sure McAllen is accurately represented. Encourage everyone you know to participate.”

Message from Census Chairman - Chief Rodriguez

Chief Victor Rodriguez

“The purpose of the Census is to provide the President of the United States a count of the people living in this Country. That Census is in essence a snapshot of our population in our community… about need and a snapshot of all the things in this country that will later be used for making policy decisions about allocations of money and funds, representation and all kinds of things that go with those policy decisions.”
