There are seven departments within MPU. Click a department to find out more:
- Utility Administration
- This is the administrative department that is responsible the management and oversight of the general operation of the Utility, and bond projects under direction of the McAllen Public Utility Board.
- Utility Billing
- The main function of the Utility Billing department is to bill for water service, sewer service, sanitation service, recycle service, and sanitation state tax.
- Customer Relations
- The Customer Relations department is responsible in assisting you with such needs as connecting/disconnecting service, transferring service, billing inquiries, meter taps, establishing sanitation services, payments, as well as with any problems dealing with your meter.
- Meter Readers
- The Meter Reader department is divided into two groups of employees which are the Meter Readers and the Servicemen.
- Transmission & Distribution
- Report water issues (breakage, backflow, strange taste/odor, etc) to this department.
- Water Systems
- Water Systems Division consists of the three facilities for water treatment and purification.
- Wastewater Systems
- Wastewater Systems consists of the three divisions: Wastewater Collections, Wastewater Pretreatment, and Wastewater Treatment.
