 The Mayor of McAllen is the Chief Elected Official and Presiding Officer of the City Government. The Mayor presides over Council meetings and acts as a voting member, appoints advisory committees, and creates committees and appoints members, chairs, and co-chairs. The Mayor maintains relationships with other governmental agencies and civic groups and makes annual reports on the State of the City. The Mayor is also head representative of the City at official and ceremonial functions. The Mayor's office is on the third floor of City Hall. Citizens wishing to speak to him may contact the office of the City Commission Liaison to schedule an appointment. Staff is available to take the information during normal office hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. If your appointment deals with any complaints or "Requests for Service", the City Manager's Office is available to assist.
