Beginning January 1, 2002, the McAllen Police Department, in accordance with the Texas Racial Profiling Law (S.B. No. 1074), began collecting police contact data for the purpose of identifying and responding (if necessary) to concerns regarding racial profiling practices. In 2009 legislation mandated the reporting of this data directly to TCLEOSE. As per House Bill 3389, each agency must file an annual online report by selecting and completing the reporting option that applies to their particular situation. The reports are filed online through the TCLEOSE Department Reporting System. The reporting period begins on January 1st and is for one calendar year.
