McAllen Tax Office

McAllen Property Taxes are due soon for property owners.

The deadline for paying 2025 property taxes in the City of McAllen is approaching quickly. We would like to remind property owners that payments must be made by Jan. 31, 2026, to avoid penalties and interest. Any payments not received by the deadline will accrue penalty and interest charges on the unpaid balance beginning Feb. 1, 2026.

2025 City of McAllen property tax statements were mailed November 1, 2025.  Failure to receive a tax statement does not affect the validity of the tax, penalty or interest.  Property owners who did not receive a tax statement should call the City of McAllen Tax office at (956) 681-1330 or may go online to view a copy of their tax statement.

Taxpayers who choose to mail their payments should pay close attention to how the U.S. Postal Service applies postmarks.  Payments are credited based on the postal service postmark date, not when the payment is placed in a mailbox.  We recommend when mailing a payment, the resident visit a post office counter and request a manual postmark or send payments via registered mail.

A convenience fee will be added if you pay by credit card/debit card.
Transaction totaling $100.00 or less - $3.00 will be added
Transaction totaling $100.01 & up - 3% will be added.
