Cool weather, Christmas Parade and Posada in Downtown McAllen

The City of McAllen, McAllen Parks and Recreation and McAllen Chamber of Commerce will host the 31st Annual Candlelight Posada Saturday, December 7th from 12:00 pm to 10:00 pm at Archer Park, 101 N. Broadway.  Weather forecasters claim the weather will be cool enough to enjoy the fun activities at Archer Park, Christmas Parade and traditional Posada in Downtown McAllen.

"Come one come all to the annual Posada festivities.  May the spirit of the holidays continue to prevail in your homes and throughout our City," says Mayor Jim Darling, City of McAllen.

Parade entries will include local businesses, community groups, church groups, civic groups, school groups, and marching bands. Bring your own chair to enjoy the entertainment.  The parade will start from the McAllen City Hall parking lot north on Main Street to Archer Park.

"There are about 80 entries in the parade.  We have a lot of floats and the Mayor's Youth Advisory Council will have inflatable ornament Christmas costumes.  We hope that everyone joins us," said Sally Gavlik, McAllen Parks and Recreation Director.
