Let's Move Pep Rally - McAllen ISD and City of McAllen are involved in Let’s Move campaign to produce healthier schools and community

The McAllen “Let’s Move” Pep Rally will be from 8-9 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 6, at McAllen Veterans Memorial Stadium. Children and families will have the opportunity to run/walk the first mile of a Kid’s Marathon program that will culminate at the McAllen Tamale Kids Run during Tamale Fest on Saturday, Dec. 13. McAllen ISD’s 32 eligible schools have all been designated “Let’s Move” schools. They will be recognized at the Pep Rally. The City of McAllen will also celebrate receiving four gold medals for the “Let’s Move” City program. Anthony Robles, an NCAA Wrestling champion from Arizona State and the winner of the 2011 Jimmy V award for Perseverance from ESPN, is scheduled to be the keynote speaker. “Let’s Move” is a national movement to promote physical activity in schools.
