South Texas College's Innovation Conference Sept. 26th

It's the 2nd year of South Texas College's Innovation Conference set for Friday, September 26, 2914. It will be another year of excellent quality speakers including our Keynote address by Mr. M. Max Yzaguirre, President / CEO of Yzaguirre Group.  He will speak to the impact of energy reform in Mexico and how this will affect economic development along the border.  There will also be a  returning panel of speakers representing our Economic Development organizations from McAllen, Mission, Edinburg, Pharr, Rio Grande City, Brownsville, and Workforce Solutions.  Other speakers for the conference include Mr. Jesus Canas, Business Economist with the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas who will kick off the conference with an economic outlook.  Our speakers will also address Port Innovation, Eduardo Campirano, Port Director & CEO for the Port of Brownsville, and Paul Moxley, President & CEO for Texas Regional Bank will provide financial perspective on energy innovation in the region.

 

Students from IIES are also actively involved in the conference by providing a Poster Session for the conference participants and will participate in a business development workshop offered by South Texas College’s Economic and Business Administration faculty.   This is expected to be another exciting conference that addresses bi-national innovation along the U.S. / Mexico border.
