McAllen FD to host binational HAZMAT training

 McAllen- The City of McAllen Fire Department in partnership with the Mission and Pharr Fire Departments, will host a binational HAZMAT training exercise Aug. 31- Sept. 4. The objective of the training is to prepare first responders to handle emergency situations involving hazardous materials.

 

The departments will host about 35 firefighters from multiple departments along the Texas/Tamaulipas border including: Reynosa, Miguel Aleman, Rio Bravo, Camargo, Matamoros and San Fernando.

 

The training will be held at the McAllen Fire Department Central Station EOC room and will consist of a one and a half-day classroom instruction, two day hands-on, and a full-scale exercise at the Pharr International Bridge on the final day.
