City of McAllen to Conduct Resident Survey for Public Art Input

by Office of Communications | Feb 01, 2024

The City of McAllen will be surveying residents in the region using the Zencity Community Engagement platform.  The purpose of the survey will be to gather feedback regarding public art, which will provide valuable insight into what area residents want, as well as to help develop a master plan regarding public art.  The survey will be available via a link or QR code on various websites, and social media platforms - with an option to conduct the survey in either English or Spanish.

“We are always striving to get input from residents and this will be a great step toward directly collaborating with residents who will share their desires in regards to public art, to help us make the best decisions for the future of our city,” said McAllen Mayor Villalobos.

“Having a well outlined master plan will help in creating a vision of what we want our city to look like in the future and getting input from our residents to develop the public art master plan is vital”, said City Manager Roel “Roy” Rodriguez, P.E.

Forward-thinking cities like McAllen understand the importance of public art and city leaders would like to see a well-crafted master plan created.

The community survey was devised through input from Keep McAllen Beautiful, IMAS, South Texas College Art Department, and the McAllen Chamber.  It is in partnership with Zencity, the community input platform used by local governments, to hear from more residents and get meaningful and actionable insights.

The survey will be available from February 1, 2024 until March 17, 2024, and can be accessed via the City of McAllen website, the Keep McAllen Beautiful website, various social media platforms, and can be accessed using the link or QR code below:
