Emergency Rental
Assistance
Program
The City of McAllen was awarded funds from the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs to provide rental assistance to our community. Our goal is housing security for renters who have been impacted by COVID-19. Through two State-sponsored programs, the Texas Emergency Rental Assistance Program (TERAP) and Texas Eviction Diversion Program (TEDP), McAllen tenants may be eligible for up to six months in rental assistance, including five-months of rental arrears with at least one current month. Rental assistance will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis to qualifying households who have remitted completed applications.
NOTE: In order to limit exposure, all documents should be submitted electronically to cdbg@mcallen.net
