Micro McAllen FAQ’s

  • How do I schedule a ride?

    You can call (956) 329-5018 or book on the MicroMcAllen app. Simply download the app through the App Store or Google Play, create an account, and schedule a pick up within minutes.

  • Where can I go using Micro McAllen?

    The Micro McAllen zone is in Northwest McAllen. Popular stop locations include Texas A&M Higher Education Center, Boys & Girls Club at Roney Center, Lark Community Center, Walmart Neighborhood Market, McAllen Main Library, and North 10th Street shopping area.

  • What if my destination is not in the Micro McAllen zone?

    There are Metro bus stop locations available in the zone that will allow you to connect to one of our fixed bus routes to access other areas of McAllen. Transfers are free within one hour of your ride from Micro McAllen. Remember to request a transfer pass from your driver.

  • How much will a ride cost?

    Micro McAllen will cost the same as our Metro fixed route bus fare. Exact change must be used if paying in cash at the time of pick-up. Card payments are available through those who are booking their ride using a mobile app.

    Adults  $1.00

    Child (6 & Younger)  FREE

    Persons with disabilities  $0.50 with ID

    Seniors (60 & Older)  $0.50 with ID

    Medicare  $0.50 with ID

    Students  $0.50 with ID

  • Can I use my United Way voucher to ride MicroMcAllen?

    Yes, United Way vouchers will be accepted by the driver.

  • During what times can I schedule a ride through MicroMcAllen?

    Rides will be available to be scheduled between 6 am – 8 pm, Monday through Friday.

  • How far in advance can I schedule a ride?

    Our app allows you to schedule a ride 7 days in advance. You can also call into the center to book your ride up to 7 days in advance as well.

  • How many people will fit in the vehicle at one time?

    Our vehicles have a max capacity of four persons and one wheelchair.

  • What if I need to cancel my ride?

    Cancellations can be done through the mobile app or you may call to cancel. There will be a 50 percent cancellation fee.

  • What if I do not show up for a ride?

You will be charged the full amount of the ride as a no-show fee.
